DERRICK TUCKER
AKA
“Rapper Dee”

BKA
“Rap Cittie”

Derrick Tucker was born January 7, 1966 in Harlem New York. Derrick is better known as “Rap Cittie”. Rap Cittie was first exposed to the Hip Hop movement in 1975at Harlem’s Drew Hamilton Park. Rap started rhyming at the age of 8, and he’s been blessing the “mic” ever since.

Cittie was able to organize his love for Hip Hop when he moved to Lefrak City Queens in 1979. MC’ing was on the rise and Rap Cittie knew he had to be a part of the movement. He became the Captain of a group of grassroots Queens rappers who called themselves “The Stay Alive Crew” aka “SAC”.

This is when Rapper Dee really began to hone his skills as a “MC”. The Stay Alive Crew began hosting and participating in local talents shows all around the five boroughs of NYC. “SAC” became a well known act in and around the Queens area.

Rap Cittie graduated from Flushing Queens’ John Bowne High School.

Cittie is always in good company. He is well known by the likes of two other products of Lefrak City, Hip Hop veteran Kool G Rap and Akinele. Other artists on Rap Cittie’s well known list are Four by Four, Kool G Rap, Heavy D and New Edition.

Derrick has already broken through on the small and big screen appearing on a local television station, WOR-TV’s “The Subway Network”. He has also appeared in videos by “Four by Four” and Akinele. Rap was also an extra in Spike Lee’s blockbuster hit, “Malcolm X”.

Rap was also featured on Sabrina Johnson’s single, “Peace in the Valley”. One of Rap’s mentors was well known saxophonist, Danny Lamell best known for his musical styling while performing with Rick James.

With the exposure, confidence and experience that Rap Cittie exudes it’s easy to see that Rap Cittie’s arrival is way past overdue.

He’s a seasoned performer who has seen it all, tried it all, and now he’s ready for the music industry.

The question remains, “Is the music industry ready for the Cittie?”
