In 2002,
I guess you could say I came across a hidden talent. A few friends of mine were bustin’ flows so I decided to give it a try, unknowingly setting off a series of events that would eventually lead to my career as a rapper. At first, I saw this as many others do, nothing but a dream, something almost, if not, impossible to achieve. Besides, at that time, I was working as a director of marketing for four therapy clinics in my home town, and trying my best to assist my mother and younger sister with anything they needed. So my schedule was pretty much filled. I decided to just pick up and leave in hopes of concurring the music business. First off, I ended up in Orlando, Florida where I managed to score a meeting with a few music producers associated with reggaeton. Things were going as planned and luckily, these contacts soon lead me to the actual home of reggaeton, Puerto Rico. Once I gathered all the tools and people needed to jump-start my career, I traveled back to where it all began for me, Mexico.

2003
While there, I found a studio where I recorded my first C.D. Thankfully, it was such a hit that my street credibility was banggin’ and there was an amazing demand for this particular under ground CD. My next step was obviously proper marketing of my new album. I then hit the streets, focusing more on the lower class Mexican neighborhoods, because I felt that the people in those environments would better relate to the situations portrayed in my album. It was definitely an adventurous experience for me to say the least. One that I believe I am probably most grateful for the opportunity I received to better associate and understand my people on a one on one basis, viewing life and everyday struggles through their eyes so to speak. By this time, it wasn’t hard to see that Reggaeton was more intended for the Puerto Rican culture. I not only wanted to make my own style of music, but rather, give something back to my people, something that they could be recognized for.

2004
I tirelessly searched for a new style of music that was new and cutting edge. Something that would allow me to express myself as a person of Mexican descent residing in the United States. Then, came the difficult task of gathering someone “legit” enough to assist me with my new dream. It took some work, but I finally found him.

2005
Chet Marcus of Tryon Park records. Through our time together, I eventually came up with a new concept, which I like to refer to as Mexaton. Unlike Reggaeton, Mexaton uses a form of Spanish known as Castillian Spanish. This is a variation of the language, which is understood by all Spanish speaking cultures. Also, Mexaton consists of three different styles of music, which are trance, hip-hop, and a dance-mix, not to mention its own political views and standpoints. Now I had everything I needed to get this moving except for one major thing, money. That wasn’t a problem for long though, seeing as how I was blessed with the financial support of A/J Entertainment, owned by Abel Velasquez & Javier Llamas.

2006
the album “Mexaton on the Rise” was finally completed and perfected as far as quality. The message that I’d like for the Latin communities to know, is that they, or should I say, we are not alone. Especially throughout these critical moments pertaining to the immigration that we are currently experiencing. Mexaton”…” is most definitely an album that evokes unity amongst its people for a better future by assisting them in acknowledging the problem at hand and allowing them to come together to figure out they can be solved. Now as unoriginal or cliché as this may sound, a tremendous amount of Blood, sweat, and tears were shed for this album. Alliances were made and shattered, but it truly was worth it to hope that our message will finally be heard.
